About the Charity
HEAL THE BAYHeal the Bay is an environmental nonprofit dedicated to making the coastal waters and watersheds of Greater Los Angeles safe, healthy and clean. To fulfill our mission, we use science, education, community action, and advocacy.
Remember those fun maps that doubled as place mats and showed a cute illustration of a city or town and all the fun sights and attractions? These days, those maps are a novelty, but we thought we would bring that fun to a video map. We plan to capture some amazing drone footage of Manhattan Beach and the downtown area and create a fun video map that the city can use to promote business and tourism.
Check out the process as we have to learn some things about drone regulations, city ordinances and technical challenges we've never faced. Jordan is a licensed FAA drone pilot (stickydrones.com), Steven is a TV & Film specialist and I'm an aspiring do-gooder. Together we'll see what we come up with and what happens as we get it done.
